Emmerdale fans ‘know’ exactly what John Sugden is hiding in the cottage’s spare room – and it’s not what you think.
John (Oliver Farnworth) has caused plenty of drama since his debut last year. Recently, it was revealed that he was responsible for the murder of Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year.
More secrets were then unraveled for John – who has since married Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). However, John has resorted to desperate measures to keep his skeletons in the closet.
Last week, he appeared to murder Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Fobb) after he cracked that John killed Nate. During a showdown in the woods, John shot Mack with an arrow and then seemingly finished off the job using a big rock.
Since then, John has whisked Aaron away to a secluded cottage in a bid to isolate him and keep him away from his family.
And in Thursday’s episode (August 28), enjoying the peace and quiet, Aaron suggested that they should try to buy the property – but the idea left John rather unsettled. Later on, things took a strange turn John faked a call to the landlord to try and get Aaron to drop the conversation.
However, at the end of the episode, Aaron came across a locked door in the cottage. As he attempted to open it John showed up and got Aaron to leave it and walk away.
But it was clear that John was hiding something in the room – and now, fans know what it is.
While some people reckon it’d Mackenzie’s dead body on the other side, others have another unsettling theory. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers reckon the cottage is actually John’s childhood home.
“Surely Mack isn’t in that locked room. But I do believe this maybe a room with John’s secrets that Aaron is going to find out very soon,” one person said.
Another added: “That house Aaron and John’s staying at is clearly John’s childhood home .. that room has no doubt got all John’s trophy’s of who he’s killed in it and I reckon it will reveal John’s mother was probably abusive and weird and he then killed her somehow.”
A third chimed in: “So a locked door in that cottage got me thinking now who is locked in there Mack or Antony. Wonder if that’s John’s cottage he owns.”
