Emmerdale fans ‘fume’ over Mackenzie Boyd ‘blunder’ that could have saved his life

Emmerdale has aired more worrying scenes for Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) as it appears John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) doesn’t intend to set him free as he continues to hold the injured farmer hostage in a bunker.

In recent scenes on the ITV soap, John attacked Mack after he worked out that John was the one who killed Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year and dumped his body into a lake.

Resorting to desperate measures to not let Mack get away, a tense showdown then took place in the woods, in which John shot Mack with an arrow, before appearing to kill him with a rock.

However, in a huge twist, it was revealed that a critically injured Mack is actually alive and is being held captive by killer John in a secret underground bunker in the woods.

Meanwhile, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and husband John visited The Woolpack, where they told Chas (Lucy Pargeter) of their plans to leave the village and move into John’s secluded cottage in the countryside.

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) shared her fears that something bad had happened to her husband Mack as he failed to get in contact following a planned trip to London. This clearly sparked fear in John, who returned to the bunker to find Mack in pain.

John told Mack that he needed to record some voice notes to confirm to Charity and his sister, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), that he would not be coming home. Mack repeatedly refused John’s demands, so the twisted paramedic took matters into his own hands.

John ran some of Mack’s old voice notes through AI and was able to create a fake voice note about ending his marriage with Charity and never returning to Emmerdale. It was sent to Charity shortly after, who was absolutely heartbroken.

Satisfied, John prepared himself to create another for Moira, but then made quite the discovery. On Mackenzie’s phone was a voice note from Aaron.

He asked after his mate, but then spoke about Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and them sleeping together. Anger washed across John’s face as he heard his husband’s confession.

Mack had mentioned Robert and Aaron’s fling yesterday, but because John is holding him hostage, there was every possibility he was just making it up.
