Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ who saves Mackenzie Boyd and it’s not Robert or Aaron

Emmerdale has confirmed a terrifying twist for Aaron Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd as killer John Sugden puts their lives in danger.

In recent scenes on the ITV soap, John attacked Mack after he worked out that John (Oliver Farnworth) was the one who killed Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) last year and dumped his body into a lake.

Resorting to desperate measures to not let Mack (Lawrence Robb) get away, a tense showdown then took place in the woods, in which John shot Mack with an arrow, before appearing to kill him with a rock.

However, in a huge twist, it was revealed that a critically injured Mack is actually alive and is being held captive by killer John in a secret underground bunker in the woods.

While this plot twist was incredibly unnerving, there’s worse to come now that John has listened to his husband Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) message to Mack, and knows he cheated with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).

On Thursday (September 4), Aware that Aaron isn’t sure about his future with John, John secretly spiked a bottle of whiskey and headed back to his cottage.

John soon encouraged his husband Aaron to drink some, and it’s not long before Aaron finds himself affected by just the one glass.

With John ready to “look after” Aaron, he heads outside to chop some firewood, while oblivious Aaron drinks more of the whiskey.

John speaks to Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) again on the mental health helpline, and after a brief conversation, Paddy realises he is speaking to John.

Sensing John is in danger, Paddy asked Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) for advice as he didn’t want to break any confidentiality, but was told John “wasn’t a risk”.

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) are also starting to suspect something isn’t right about John.

Meanwhile, Mack managed to escape the bunker before being caught by John once more, and as the episode concluded, John stood over Mack wielding an axe.

Emmerdale fans are convinced Paddy has alerted the police and he is on his way to save Mack and Aaron from twisted John.

Taking to X, one person wrote: “Paddy will get someone there in time #emmerdale.”
