Preemptions are a fact of life, but soap fans are never happy when their favorite shows are interrupted by other broadcasting, whether it be news, sports, or anything else. On the afternoon of Monday, August 18, breaking news coverage of the Oval Office meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cut into daytime programming, which led CBS to preempt Bold and Beautiful nationally. In time zones that were not showing the news live, an encore episode of the soap aired instead, giving fans another chance to watch Finn and Steffy’s wedding (which was originally broadcast in 2021) and all the ensuing romance and drama.
Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing
Because it was a national preemption, the Monday, August 18, episode of B&B is now slated to air on Tuesday, August 19. This means that fans don’t have to worry about missing a single episode of the action. And with Luna (Lisa Yamada) out of her coma and back on her feet, anything is possible! In fact, this week’s B&B spoilers video shows her plotting to do something terrible at the party celebrating Will’s (Crew Morrow) promotion, likely to interfere with his romance with Electra (Laneya Grace), so something terrible could happen if Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Li (Naomi Matsuda) can’t track her down after they’ve noticed that she’s gone missing!
So if you’re in a time zone where a rerun airs, enjoy your flashback, and be sure to tune in tomorrow to see the action pick up right where it left off at Friday’s cliffhanger without skipping a beat. Because the preemption was nationwide, Monday’s B&B should not be available for streaming on CBS.com or Paramount+ until Tuesday evening, after it has aired across the country during the day. This also means that all subsequent episodes of the show this week will now air one day later than previously scheduled, bumping the Friday cliffhanger to Monday.
