The long-running ITV soap, which premiered way back in 1972, is no stranger to airing a controversial subject. Over the years, countless dramatic and ground-breaking storylines have played out on screens – including everything from health battles and epic stunts to domestic abuse and baby kidnapping.
Not to mention, the numerous affairs and murders that have taken place in the famous village. But now, it’s been claimed that two characters could be set for an incest twist.
As fans will recall, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has recently struck up a romance with Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle). The pair met for the first time when April lived on the streets last year.
Completely vulnerable and also pregnant, April ended up befriending Dylan while she was homeless. Tragically, April sadly gave birth to a stillborn baby later on in a public toilet before returning to the Dales.
Now sober and clean, Dylan has bagged a job working at the Wolfpack and he and April have gotten closer too and have become an item.
But now, with not much known about Dylan’s past and family, fans reckon he could actually be related to April. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person said: “Omg it just occurred to me they’re gonna make April and Dylan brother and sister, aren’t they?”
Someone else chimed in and agreed: “Well it makes sense the Dingles do like to keep it in the family.” A third declared: “I thought this!” Another fan then pointed out: “This is Emmerdale after all.”
