Emmerdale has reminded viewers of forgotten evidence that could spell trouble for Robert Sugden, as his brother John continues to scheme.
This week, Aaron found out about his husband John’s string of crimes, while Robert headed to the woods to protect his ex and find the missing Mack.
John made a call to the police, pretending that Robert was threatening him, before jumping from the gorge and taking Aaron down with him.
With both men rushed to hospital and Aaron put in an induced coma after suffering a bleed on the brain, innocent Robert was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Robert was interviewed at the station in today’s episode, and he recalled the true version of events about the lead up to the horrific incident.
He was adamant that John killed Nate and suspected that he’d killed Mack too, but the detective refused to believe murderer Robert over “respected member of the community” John.
As Robert lost his temper, furious that he wasn’t being listened to, DS Jordan went to the hospital to speak to John – who had regained consciousness.
John continued to lie, claiming that Robert lashed out and Aaron stepped in to protect him, which is why they both ended up falling over the edge.
He even said that he woke up at the bottom of the gorge and wanted to help treat Aaron, but Robert attacked him to stop him getting near his husband.
Viewers know this isn’t the full story, as John physically assaulted Robert first, who then violently hit back in a fit of rage.
But John has cleverly kept this secret footage until now, so what will this mean for Robert’s fate?
