Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has broken his silence after fans were left fearing Mackenzie Boyd had been killed off.

Mack was thought to have been murdered by villain John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) last month after he learned about his evil antics.

John shot an arrow through Mack’s chest, before ominously holding a large rock over him.

John and his husband, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), soon fled the village to stay in a remote cottage, with John frequently seen walking through the woods.

Danny responded: “Genuinely everybody’s asking the same question, including my mother-in-law and my own mum, who are both huge fans of the show. They keep me up to date on pretty much everything that I know I’ve already done, which is an interesting concept.

“But genuinely, we don’t know. We know, sort of, who’s involved, if you’re involved, that kind of thing. And that’s ultimately it, because for these exact reasons, if they give you too much information, you could slip up.”

The actor went on: “I’m as interested in everyone else to find out what they’re going to do with it, because it’s very much a secret, closed-off project at the moment.

“The powers that be know what’s going on, the powers that be know how they’re going to do it and then it trickles down to us eventually. But I’m not even sure.”

Danny then hinted that there are “whispers” that filming could commence in September or October.

“So, I don’t know whether that means it’s going to be on around that time, whether it’s going to be on next year. I promise you, I know absolutely nothing,” he added.

“I think the one thing they’ve said is it won’t be like somebody’s walking into the Rovers and going, ‘Oh, I’ve got the wrong pub’. It’s not going to be like that.

“They don’t want to make it look like it’s just a p*** take. They want to make it like a really good high-end drama. And I hope they do because, you know, soap for me again has changed my life. It’s a massive part of my life and it’s navigated where I am today.”
