Pier Pressure
Sonny arrived on the docks, having been summoned by Rocco and Danny. Rocco told his grandfather that he and Danny had found a body. Sonny advised them to call the PCPD. Soon, Anna and Dante arrived on the scene. Dante wasn’t thrilled that Rocco had called Sonny and not him. Anna interviewed the teens, who said they hadn’t seen anything suspicious outside of the body. She dismissed them.
After the body was fished out of the water, Anna observed that judging by the marks on her neck, it appeared the victim had been strangled, meaning that they had a murder case on their hands. Dante recognized the woman as the judge in Michael’s custody trial. Sonny overheard this and appeared stunned.
A suspicious Anna noted to Sonny what a small world it was that he was the first on the scene, given his family’s connection to the victim. Sonny maintained that he was only there because Rocco had called him. Anna said she might have further questions for him or the boys, and Sonny said he’d be sure to bring his lawyer.
Alone with Dante, Sonny vowed to him that the first he’d heard of Heran’s fate was when the boys called him, and that he would never involve them in anything illegal. Dante believed his dad, who remarked, “I find it very interesting that they find the body on this pier, across from Spoon Island — where Sidwell lives.”
Anger Management
Curtis stopped by Alexis’s to thank her for getting Stella released on bail. Alexis cautioned that while the investigators were focused on Stella’s actions where Martin was concerned, they stood to uncover the other times Stella had fudged her clients’ records. If so, Stella could well go to trial.
As the pair discussed Drew’s many dirty deeds, Alexis briefed Curtis on Drew serving her with a restraining order. “I can’t get within 500 feet of my own granddaughter,” she lamented, explaining that Drew was trying to isolate Scout from anyone who might paint him in a negative light.
Curtis and Alexis concurred that they would each do “whatever it takes” to protect their families from Drew. “Drew has crossed a red line,” seethed Curtis. Alexis corrected, “Drew has crossed every line — and he can’t be allowed to do that again.”
Under Lock and Key
As they continued their conversation in Drew’s office, Trina wasn’t sure if she could trust Kai with the secret she was keeping, but he convinced her to take the risk. Kai was shocked when Trina disclosed that Drew was blackmailing Portia and why. Kai continued to kick himself for failing to see Drew for who he really was. Trina told Kai that Drew had a hard copy of the test results Portia had altered — and if those went away, so did Drew’s leverage over her mom.
Kai thought he knew where Drew would hide the incriminating paperwork. He and Trina sneaked into empty Drew’s house and Kai set about trying to break into Drew’s safe.

Stop Signs
Portia met up with Nina at the Brown Dog and apologized to her for not doing more to stop Drew “from running roughshod over all of our lives.” While Nina regretted her choice to keep quiet about sleeping with Drew, Portia understood Nina’s desire to protect her daughter and took responsibility for leaving herself vulnerable to Drew’s blackmail. Portia got teary as she lamented that Trina would never look at her the same way.
Nina insisted that Trina loved and respected Portia, but Portia wasn’t so sure anymore and spoke of her hatred for Drew, who had put huge pressure on her and Curtis. Nina didn’t want Portia to give up on her husband, but Portia sadly relayed that things had come to a head that afternoon and Curtis had walked out on her. “Our marriage is over,” she said.
Nina was sorry to hear it. Portia said it would be all right, adding, “As painful as it was, it was liberating.” She explained that now, she could stop being afraid of losing or disappointing Curtis, “because it all happened.” She confirmed to Nina that she’d told Trina the whole truth about the dirt Drew had on her.
The conversation turned back to Drew and all the things he had done to hurt them and the people they loved. The women agreed they couldn’t let it happen again. Nina noted, “As long as Drew is breathing, my daughter will never be free.” “None of us will,” replied Portia.
Later, a server cleared off their table, where the women had abandoned their drinks.
Belief System
Elizabeth arrived at Carly’s office in time to hear Carly threatening to kill Drew. Drew turned to Liz and claimed that Carly was just mad because he and Willow were back together. “What?” exclaimed Carly, shocked by the news. Drew goaded Carly by saying that given his reunion with Willow, “it was only a matter of time” before he and Willow got custody of Wiley and Amelia — and there was nothing Carly could do about it. With that, he stalked off.
Carly was outraged when Liz confirmed that Willow had reconciled with Drew. “What the hell is wrong with her?” barked Carly. Liz said that Carly and Michael had forced Willow to get back together with Drew because she was so desperate to see her kids. She pointed out that Carly had been separated from her own kids in the past and that she would have made a deal with the devil if it meant getting access to them. Carly softened at that, wondering if Willow had made such a deal with Drew. Liz said that while Willow no longer loved Drew, he had made her believe that he was the only way she’d get her kids back in her life. “Prove her wrong, Carly,” Liz urged. Carly still believed that Willow wasn’t emotionally healthy enough to be around the children if Drew was in the picture.
Advice for the Lovelorn
At the nurses’ station, Chase told Willow about the informal conversation he’d had with Judge Heran on her behalf. Willow was appreciative but told Chase she’d come up with another way to get her kids back. When she broke the news that she had decided to get back together with Drew, Chase tried to dissuade her, insisting she could get her kids back without Drew’s help. Overhearing this, an arriving Drew snarked, “That is none of your business, Detective Chase.”
Chase stood his ground, explaining that he had merely been telling Willow that she had rights as Wiley and Amelia’s mother and simply had to prove in court that she was mentally fit to parent them. “How Willow and I get her kids back, that’s up to us,” stated Drew, who further needled Chase by wondering if Brook Lynn would be happy to know about the interest Chase had taken in Willow’s personal affairs.
Chase claimed that Brook Lynn would be happy to know he was trying to stop “a sleaze like you” from taking advantage of Willow. He called out Drew for manipulating Willow and voiced his hope that Willow saw it, too. Drew prodded Willow to tell Chase she didn’t believe that, and Willow appeased him by saying she knew all he wanted to do was help her get her kids back.
When Chase excused himself to take a call from Dante, Drew took the opportunity to suggest to Willow that it wasn’t a great idea for her to continue her friendship with Chase. She assured him he didn’t need to worry about Chase: “I trust you completely, and that’s all that matters.” He left after she promised to call him after her shift.
Chase returned to the nurses’ station and interrupted Willow’s attempt to apologize to him for Drew’s behavior to inform her that Judge Heran had been murdered. Willow ran off, upset that whatever inroads Chase had made with the judge on her behalf were now moot. Chase watched her leave, then called for backup at G.H., saying he had potential evidence in a murder investigation. When Anna arrived, he told her he had a pretty good idea who the suspect was.
Bad News Travels Fast
Kristina dropped by Michael’s office at Aurora and Michael filled her in about the $1 million payment Judge Heran received the night before she ruled in favor of Michael at the custody trial. Michael believed that their dad wasn’t responsible but noted that people would make the assumption that either he or Sonny bribed the judge. Michael added that if he and Willow were summoned back to family court, “that could be a real problem.” He decided to get answers from Heran herself and figure out who stood to gain by him being granted full custody.
Michael then got a call from Sonny with news on Judge Heran — namely, that she was dead. He briefed Kristina, who was equally shocked. Michael fretted that Heran’s demise might help Drew to get an emergency custody hearing called on Willow’s behalf. Kristina scoffed that Willow was too smart to trust Drew again after how he had manipulated her.
Michael’s phone rang again. It was Carly, who reported that Willow had caved and was back with Drew. A glowering Michael promised Carly that he wouldn’t give in to Drew’s demands. “He has no idea how quickly circumstances could change for him,” Michael added ominously.
Kristina was floored when Michael told her that according to Carly, Willow had gone back to Drew. “She’s made a lot of bad choices lately, and now she’s gonna have to live with the consequences,” Michael declared.
Kristina arrived home and called out for Alexis. No one answered.
Dark Shadows
When car lights approached from outside Drew’s house, Trina called out to Kai, warning him that Drew was back. Kai stopped working on trying to break the lock and the twosome beat a hasty retreat to hide in a bedroom. Oblivious to the intruders, Drew came inside the darkened house and poured himself a stiff drink. He walked over to the safe and unlocked it, then pulled out Willow’s engagement ring. He sat down his glass, gazing at a framed photo of himself with Willow, then examined the ring, flashing back to when he first offered it to her. “It’s all gonna work out, Willow,” he murmured in the present. “You’ll see.” As he finished his drink, a shot rang out, striking him in the back! As he fell to the ground, Kai and Trina flinched from the sound of the gunshot from the safety of their hiding spot. A shadowy figure stood over him and fired their gun again. Drew’s eyes closed as he took the hit.
