Longtime actress Lara-Isabell Lentin, known for her role as hotel manager Amelie Fährmann, recently announced her exit on Instagram, describing it as the closing of a chapter in her life. Meanwhile, Katja Frenzel, who has been part of the Rote Rosen family since 2016, revealed her departure was not voluntary, expressing her willingness to continue indefinitely. Another blow came with the announcement by Hakim Michael Meziani, who played Ben Berger for over 13 years, stating his journey with the series had come to an end.
Adding to the heartbreak, Jerry Kwarteng, who portrayed Hendrik Althaus, will make his final appearance on November 26. On Instagram, he reflected on his exit, acknowledging the difficulty but emphasizing the necessity for new stories to emerge. Fans are also being prepared for some dramatic twists, including an unexpected character death.
The ARD network explained these changes as an opportunity to introduce fresh faces and storylines while bidding farewell to beloved characters. However, they hinted that these goodbyes might not be permanent, keeping the door open for potential returns.
Looking ahead, the 23rd season, starting November 22, will center on GZSZ actress Lea Marlen Woitack as Svenja Jablonski, along with a younger ensemble cast. Notable newcomers include Alessia Mazza (24), Francesco Oscar Schramm (19), and Sarah Buchholzer (24). Additionally, viewers can anticipate a special guest appearance by deaf actor Benjamin Piwko (44), further diversifying the show’s storytelling.
