Yellowstone‘s prequel how officially has a confirmed release date on Paramount+.
1923, starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, will debut on the streaming platform in US and Canada on December 18. Viewers in the UK and Australia can watch it the following day, December 19, while international premiere dates are yet to be announced.
The new series created by Taylor Sheridan follows an older generation of the central Dutton family, here navigating a pandemic, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression in the American West.

Mirren, who will next be seen in Fast X, plays Cara Dutton, while Ford (announced to star in Captain America 4) portrays Jacob Dutton.

The cast is rounded out by Marley Shelton (the Scream franchise) as Emma Dutton, former James Bond star Timothy Dalton as the powerful, wealthy Donald Whitfield, Game of Thrones‘ Jerome Flynn as sheepmen leader Banner Creighton and Terminator‘s Robert Patrick as Sheriff William McDowell.
Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Brian Geraghty, Sebastian Roché, Aminah Nieves and Julia Schlaepfer also star.

1923 is the latest spinoff in the Yellowstone universe after prequel 1883 released in February for a ten-episode run. Spinoff 6666, set in present-day Texas, is also in the works.
Meanwhile, the main show will return for a fifth instalment, once again led by Kevin Costner as John Dutton III, the patriarch of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in Montana. The cast also includes Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Gil Birmingham.
Premiering next month, the new chapter of Yellowstone has teased a deadly showdown between the gang.
1923 will debut on Paramount+ in the US and Canada on December 18, with episodes available to stream the next day in the UK and Australia. Yellowstone season five returns with a two-hour premiere on the same platform on November 13.
